Pakxe is a town and capital of Champasack province in lower Laos and also the district capital of Pakxe district. Pakse has a population of 87,000, located at the confluence of the Xedone and Mekong rivers. It is the capital of Champasack province and the gateway to the Bolovens PlateauSaravane (also known as Salavan, Lao: ສາລະວັນ) is a province of Laos, located in the south of the country. Previously the province was called Saravane, later changed to Salaaan vo by the Thais in 1828. It was part of the Champasak Kingdom, then called Muang Mang, inhabited by the Mon-Khmer ethnic groups. Siem Reap, a resort town in northwestern Cambodia, is the gateway to the ruins of Angkor, the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th–15th centuries. Angkor’s vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes preserved Angkor Wat.

Day 1: Pakse Arrival

Day 2: Pakse Trekking

We drive up to the Bolaven Plateau, which was once part of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, and pass by the local tea and coffee plantations. Then, we start our hiking from Ban Hue Jiet Village ( Ngae ethnic minority) through the coffee plantations and the Dan Sinxai limestone, a beautiful area of the Bolaven, before reaching the beautiful Champi Waterfall, a nice spot for picnic lunch and swimming.

After lunch,  we will continue driving to the famous 220 m high Tad Fane Waterfall and Tad Yaung Waterfall. From there, we will be transferred to Ban Nong Luang, where we will spend the night

In the late afternoon, it is the right time to explore the village and enjoy dinner and Baci ceremony.

Day 3: Pakse Trekking

After breakfast, greet and take leave of your host family; we will hike to Dan Noy limestone cliffs and admire the magnificent views of Dong Hua Sao National Protected Area, Then we will do a short easy trek to Tad sue Waterfall ( 7 levels fall). We will continue our hiking through the jungle to Tad Kamued Waterfall have lunch, and enjoy swimming then we will make our way back by hiking up. You will observe different herbs and wild orchids back in the village, then transfer to Champasak.

Day 4: Pakse – 4000 Island Cycling

Today, after breakfast, we will go on a journey to discover the life of the locals in the Champasak area. This bike tour allows you to experience the beauty of the Lao countryside amidst the breathtaking, flourishing nature of mountains and rice fields. Follow the red trail, which starts in the centre of Champasak and passes three villages (Ban Tai, Ban Houay Sa Houa and Ban Houay Khor). The trail ends 12 kilometers before the entrance to the Vat Phu complex, a must-see temple in southern Laos listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And then we continue cycling South on flat terrain heading to Sukuma town. We have lunch at a local restaurant, then cross the Mekong by ferry to Ban Nongbue village t. Then we continue to cycle to our pick-up point for our transfer to Don Khong, the largest of the well-known 4000 Islands of the Mekong.

The rest of the day is at Leisure to relax at our hotel

Day 5: Don Khong - Don Khone (45 Km) (B/L/D)

Today is all about discovering and exploring nature in this beautiful tranquil setting, and one of the highlights of this trip is cycling through the 4000 Islands, taking on small ferries the short distance from one Island to the other, cycling through the peaceful and un-touristic five different Islands to islands don safari don phimarn don lompaddee islands of its southern then jump on the boat to a couple of Cycle through Don Det and along the old railway line and across the stunning French Railway bridge to Don Khone have lunch we discover donkhone island to see the waterfall and French colonial since during the Indochina war.

Day 6: Donkhone -Khonphaphen Waterfall - Laos Border – Preah Vihear City in Cambodia

Start our day by crossing over the river and heading south riding to the fascinating Khan Phapeng waterfalls, known as the Niagara of the East and the largest in South East Asia, these natural falls of nature divide the Mekong River providing a magnificent site near to the Cambodian border.

From here, we will continue cycling to the border. We will spend approximately 30 minutes crossing the border between Laos and Cambodia, after which we will continue cycling with the Cambodia Cycling Team alongside the Mekong River. As we pass through small villages and farmlands, we will embark on a local boat to cruise upstream to the Preah Romkel community for lunch.

The scenery along the boat ride on the Mekong River is particularly beautiful. Lush flooded forests and small islands offer opportunities to spot various birds and observe local fishing activities.

After enjoying lunch at Preah Romkel, we will resume our cycling journey to visit the largest waterfall in the Mekong, known as Sopheak Mitt, which marks the border between Cambodia and Laos. Following our visit, we will transfer by support vehicle to Preah Vihear City for hotel check-in. In the evening, we’ll have dinner at a local restaurant

Day 7: Preah Vihear – Koh Ker – Preah Vihear Temple  (Sraem)

Today, we’ll set off early in the morning from the hotel to enjoy the refreshing weather on our way to the magnificent Koh Ker temples. Along our journey, we’ll make several delightful stops for a picnic breakfast, savoring snacks and engaging with the local culture. We’ll visit local schools, vibrant markets, and picturesque farms, as well as a pagoda adorned with thousands of Buddhas, where you'll have the opportunity to interact with welcoming local people.

Upon our arrival at the Koh Ker temples, we’ll pause for lunch at a charming local restaurant, fueling up for our explorations. Afterward, we’ll delve into the rich history of the temple complex, visiting each site one by one. Our journey will culminate at the impressive Pyramid, the largest temple in the ancient city of Koh Ker, where you can marvel at its grandeur and architectural beauty.

After exploring the Koh Ker temples, we’ll transfer via our support vehicle to our hotel in Sraem, where you can check in and freshen up. Later, we’ll enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, indulging in the flavours of the region and reflecting on our day's adventures.

Day 8: Preah Vihear Temple – Polot Based – Bong Thom Homestay  

Breakfast will be at the hotel. We will cycle from our hotel to Phnom Dangrek, where the checkpoint for Preah Vihear Temple is located. We will then embark on a 4WD to drive up to the top of the mountain, where we can visit the Preah Vihear World Heritage Temple, which is a must-see site. From there, we can also enjoy views of Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. Afterward, we will return to the checkpoint to board our van for lunch in Anlong Veng. After lunch, we will visit Ta Mok’s house to learn about Khmer Rouge history before transferring to Bong Thom Homestay for the night.

Day 9: Bong Thom Homestay – Phnom Kulen Trekking

Breakfast will be at the hotel. We will cycle from Bong Thom Homestay to the foot of Kulen Mountain, within 25km. After arriving at the trekking point, we will get ready and trek to the top of Kulen Hill, visiting Wat Preah Ang Chop and the 1,000 Lingas along the way.

We will have lunch at Youth Camp and then enjoy swimming in the river before continuing our trek through the protected jungle to visit Preah Ang Thom and the largest part of the waterfall. Take your time to enjoy swimming under the waterfall until we transfer back to the hotel in Siem Reap. After checking in, you will have free time to relax. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 10: Siem Reap – Angkor Wat Sunrise and Jungle Temple Trekking

Wake up early at 5:00 AM. The guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to watch the sunrise in front of Angkor Wat. Afterward, we will visit the world heritage temple of Angkor Wat.

Next, we will be transferred to a local café for a picnic breakfast. Following that, we will start trekking through the jungle of Angkor to visit Ta Prohm, Ta Nei, and Preah Khan. We will enjoy a homemade lunch in a village.

After lunch, we will trek along the wall of Angkor Thom from the North Gate to the Victoria Gate, visiting the Terrace of the Elephants, Royal Enclosure, Baphuon, and Bayon Temple along the way.

Finally, we will transfer back to the hotel in Siem Reap, where you will have free time to relax.

Dinner will be on your own.

Day 11: Countryside Cycling and Kayaking  

Breakfast will be at the hotel. Today, we will cycle through the remote villages of Siem Reap, starting from your hotel and cycling to West Baray. We will make stops to observe the daily activities of the villagers, visit a pagoda, and explore the Angkor Silk Farm. We’ll continue cycling until we reach Tonle Sap Lake, where we will embark on a local boat to visit Mychreay Floating Village and enjoy a homemade lunch in a floating house.

After lunch, we will enjoy kayaking in the mangroves of Tonle Sap Lake before returning to the boat pier, where the driver will be waiting to transfer you back to the hotel in Siem Reap. You will have free time to relax at your leisure.
