15 Days Spirit Trekking In Far Northern Laos

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Luang Prabang - Arrival

Welcome to luang Prabang meet your guide and driver then transfer to the hotel, free on your leisure overnight in luang Prabang.

Day 2 : Luang Prabang - Hmong village( B , L )

After breakfast we meet you guide and driver then we heading to the high mountains it takes 45 minutes , arrived to the Hmong village and walking around interact with hill tribes people, see the houses, living condition, buy some hand mad souvenirs to support the local people and make then happy, after finished walking around we ready to start our  trekking 4 hours through the lush green forest to kuangsi waterfall,  on the way we passed the vegetables garden, rubber tree plantation, teak plantation, bamboo forest, wheat corn, we arrived to the spring water and take a break for lunch, you can swim here to like appetizer, after meals we keep going to the top of the kuangsi waterfall, having the soft drinks or coffee and the tree house café which very great view over the big trees and mountains, we heading down to the bottom of waterfall, here is fantastic view of waterfall, then you will enjoyed the bear rescue center. Catch up the minivan stop over the water buffalos ice scream and test, we back to the town by late afternoon overnight in luang Prabang.  

Day 3 : Luang Prabang - Nong Khiaw ( B , L , D )

After breakfast and check out we follow the national road No13  heading to hydropower dam No2  it takes  1;40 minutes’ drive where we embark to the private boat, then we up stream Nam ou river for 1 hour to don khone village the Khmu people, arrived the village and meet the local guide there then we start our trekking from the village to Tad hoy waterfall, it takes 2 hour we walking through teak forest rice field, and follow the river to the top and take a break for lunch with great view, after meals we walking back to the village by down the hills, we keep going by boat to Nong khiew and overnight here.

Day 4 : Nong Khiaw Trekking In Khmu Villages( B ,L, D )

After breakfast we climb up to pha som nang the great view point of nong khiew it takes 40 minutes to reach  to the top, we arrived and enjoyed the coffee, absorb the fantastic view over the town, river, bridge, we then down to the nam ou river and upstream to sop kong village the Khmu people, we visited the village and then start our trekking to Tad mok waterfall it take 1 hour to get there, we arrived and enjoyed our swimming and picnic lunch there, we come back to the village and keep going up stream to muang ngoi village the famous area of Kayak, fishing, camping, tubing, we visited a village and then keep walking to tham kang caves for our homestay, enjoy the swimming at the caves and overnight here.

Day 5 : Trekking To Kiew Khan Villages  ( B, L , D )

After breakfast we start our trekking 1 hour to ban Houy sen village through the rice paddy fields, river, rock mountains, we arrived to the village and walk around interact with local people, after see the village then we keep trekking up the high mountains 4-5 hours along the way you will enjoyed the bamboo forest, great view over the several  high mountains, upper rice farm, we stop for picnic lunch on the way, we then arrived to Kiew khan village the Khmu people, this village base on the top of the high mountains which is provide you the fantastic view and overnight here.

Day 6 : Kiew Khan Villages  - Muang Khuaw ( B, L, D )

After breakfast we say good bye to the local people and start our trekking down the hills 4-5 hours to Hat sa pheuy village for to day not almost down the hills and not to difficult, we enjoyed the trail, forest, great view, upper rice farm, take a break for picnic lunch, we arrived to Hat sa pheuy village by noon and then we take a local taxi15 minutes  to Hydro power dam No 3 for our journey to Muang khuaw town by boat it takes 2-3 hours to get there, we arrived to Muang khuaw town by late afternoon and overnight here.

Day 7 : Muang Khuaw -Akha Villages ( B, L, D )
After breakfast at 8:30am, depart from Meungkhoua on dirt road by tuk-tuk heading to the  north along Nam ou river 45 minutes, then we start our walking  up on trial 2hs through forest, bamboo, upper rice farm, we take a break for picnic  lunch, after meals we keep walking 1h to Ban sand gern village (Akha loma the hill people ) and stay overnight here.
 

Day 8 : Trekking from Villages  To Villages ( B, L , D )

After breakfast at 8:30am we start our walking  from village on a trial along High mountain ridge more flat 1'5 h to a smaller Akha village we take a break for picnic lunch in a house of Akha family after  meals we keep Walking  3'5h to Ban ya young village (Akha loma hill tribe people ) we arrived to the village and stay overnight.

Day 9 : Trekking back to Muang khuaw( B, L, D )

After breakfast we start our walking  from village it is  flat and more down 3hs to Ban katangsoy (Khmu tribe) we take a break for picnic lunch in a house of Khmu family and then we take a long tail boat  down Nam ban river to Nam ou river,  we down the river for 1,5 h to the Num ou river and then take the tuk-tuk 1h back to Muang khuaw and overnight here.

Day 10 : Muang khuaw - Bountai ( B, L, D )

After breakfast we drive a car from Muang Khuaw town to Bountai town it take 3 hours we do several stop for photos, local market, village visted, we arrive to Bountai by afternoon and free on your leisure,overnight here.

Day 11: Bountai - Mouchi village ( B, L, D )

After breakfast we visited the morning market to see the local food and vegetables and then we drive to  Pouli and Eupa villages where we start our walking follow a  small trail brings you up to a high village, it takes 4-5 hours where the unique Mouchi people (6 villages only in Phongsaly province ) we arrived to the village and welcome  by hill tribes people  and we overnight in the village.

Day 12 : Mouchi - Eupa village ( B, L, D )

After breakfast we start our walking through a long and partly steep hike to an Eupa village it takes 4-6 hours, the trekking through high mountains, bamboo forest, upper rice farm, wheat corn, picnic lunch on the way, we arrive to the village by afternoon and  what could be better than the traditional welcoming massage. Overnight in the village.

Day 13: Eupa village - Loma village ( B, L, D )

After breakfast we start our hike down and then up again to a beautifully located Loma village.it takes 4-6 hours we do stop for picnic lunch and After meals, enjoy the relaxed walking around the village and overnight in a Loma village.

Day 14 : Loma village - Oudomxay ( B, L , D)

After breakfast we walking back to the road and meet our driver then drive to Oudomxay. It takes 3 hours, visited Nam kat yor la pa national park and waterfall we arrived to Oudomxay by late afternoon overnight here.

Day 15 : Oudomxay - Luang Prabang ( B )

After breakfast and 8:00 transfer 195 km back to Luang Prabang ( Or Transfer 145 Km to Luang NamTha for more trekking trip with us ). Arrival in Luang Prabang ( Driver can drop you at the airport, train-station or your own hotel ) .
