Jungle Trek, Cultural Village, and Boat on the Nam Ou River in Nong Khiaw (L)
Meet your guide early morning and drive to the trailhead just outside of Nong Khiaw. The first leg of this tour is a 40 minute boat ride up the Nam Ou river through a valley surrounded by mountains to a village well known for their traditional handicrafts. Explore the village with your guide and visit the Clay School operational since 2011.
Depart the village on a trail heading straight into a mountain pass. This is one of the most beautiful trails in the area taking you through old-growth bamboo forests and stunning jungle. The trail is medium difficulty and you’ll want to be sure to bring a good pair of hiking boots. This leg of the trail is about 4 hours trekking under normal conditions and well worth the hike.
At the end of the trail we’ll arrive at a riverside village where we can explore and see some unusual and interesting farms before taking a Tuk Tuk back to Nong Khiaw.
Note: Lunch will be enjoyed either in the village or jungle depending on timing and customer preference.
